London and South Western Railway.

     NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Special General Meeting of the Shareholders of the London and South Western Railway Company, will be held on THURSDAY, the 26th day of April next, at 12 o’clock at noon, at the Company’s Offices, in the Waterloo Station, Lambeth, when there will be submitted for the consideration of the Proprietors then present, in person or by proxy, the Bills hereinafter named:—namely

     And at the same meeting will also be submitted for the consideration of the proprietors then present in person or by proxy, the Bills hereinafter named, which are promoted by other companies or parties, and in which respectively certain clauses and provisions have been inserted by their respective promoters proposing to confer powers on or to affect the interests of the London and South Western Railway Company, namely:—

8. ‟A Bill for making Railways between the London, Brighton, and South Coast and Direct Portsmouth Railways, and Hayling Ferry; for the construction of Harbours and Docks, and for other purposes.”

9. ‟A Bill for making a Railway from the Mid Sussex and Midhurst Junction Railway to Petersfield in the county of Southampton.”

10. ‟A Bill for making a Railway in the parish of Portsea, in the county of Southampton, and a pier in connexion therewith.”

11. ‟A Bill to lease the Stokes Bay Railway and Pier to the London and South Western Railway Company and for other purposes.”

14. ‟A Bill for making Railways for the purpose of connecting Ryde with Ventnor, and the East Coast of the Isle of Wight, and for other purposes.”

     The Proprietors so present at such Meeting will be called upon to express their approval or dis-approval of the same Bills and Clauses or provisions respectively.

     The Books of the Company for the transfer of Stock and Shares will be closed from the 14th day of April to the 26th day of April next, both inclusive.
