COUNTY COURT, January 19th.—Before William Furner, Esq.
John Challen v. Samuel Bennett.—In this case Bennett, who is keeper of the turnpike gate at Beggars’ Corner, on the Petersfield road, had demanded and obtained tolls to the amount of 1s. 6d. from Mr. Challen, on Sunday, he being at the time going to his accustomed place of Divine Worship, and Mr. Challen brought the present action to recover that amount, and an order was given for immediate payment of the same.
