MONKWEARMOUTH.—The ancient and extensive parish of Monkwearmouth, including its isolated parts, known as the Simonsides, near Jarrow, was perambulated by the parochial authorities, for the second time within living memory, a few days ago. The parish comprises the townships of Monkwearmouth, Monkwearmouth Shore, Falwell, Southwick, and Hylton, the latter township being a small portion of the vast possessions of the Barons of Hylton, now represented in female blood by Sir William George Hylton Jolliffe Bart., M.P. for Petersfield, which borough was formerly represented by his grandfather, William Jolliffe, Esq., who married Miss Eleanor Hylton, the heiress of that ancient and noble family.
