MR. BONHAM-CARTER’S RE-ELECTION FOR WINCHESTER.—The high esteem in which this gentleman is deservedly held by the inhabitants of Petersfield, caused the result of the late Winchester election to be looked for here with intense interest, and immediately after four o’clock on Wednesday the eager inquiry ran through the town, ‟Has any news arrived from Winchester?” The suspense was, however, soon relieved, by the church bells sending forth a merry peal, and it speedily became known that the hon. gentleman had been returned at the head of the poll.
