MR. WOODIN.—Our old friend, with new faces, to wit, his ‟Bachelor Box,” &c., paid us a visit on Monday evening last, at the Dolphin Hotel, when, the varied characters as announced in the programme, were portrayed in the usual original and spirited style by their talented artist, and which, it is needless to add, was received and appreciated, in a way that showed his endeavours were successful. The large room(with the exception of the stage) was crowded to an overflow, many were compelled to have recourse to the orchestra. Upwards of 100 were unable to gain admission, and were obliged to return. Among whom were many of our surrounding gentry, clearly showing the absolute necessity of a much larger space, being requisite for accommodation in the town, if full attendance from our local gentry and neighbours are to be taken into consideration.
