PETERSFIELD.]ODDFELLOWSHIP.—About sixteen rears ago a lodge in connection with the Manchester Unity was established at the Red Lion Hotel in this town. It went on very well ; but in a short time, from some cause unknown to us, it was soon removed to the Golden Horse Inn, where it has been held till about a month ago, when it was again removed to the Dolphin Hotel. For several years the numbers scarcely exceeded thirty, but during this time it was making a fund. Of late a change has taken place, and the number of members now exceeds seventy, and still makes more almost every lodge night. On the last audit night, some two or three weeks ago, the funds stood as follows, which shows the lodge to be in a highly-prosperous condition —Amount invested—Consols, new shares, £221 0s. 6d. ; Savings’ Bank, £194 10s. 5d. ; in hand and stock. £26 4s. 5½d. ; making a total of £441 14s. 10½d. We would recommend healthy and respectable young men in the district to enrol themselves in this branch of this giant society, or some similar institution.
