PETERSFIELD.]—DEMOLITION OF AN OLD TURNPIKE GATE.—On Tuesday next the Old Rushes turnpike gate, near Petersfield Railway Station, is to be removed, and from that date all persons previously liable to pay toll will be exempt in passing or re-passing with any vehicle, or cattle of any description. This toll-house, that has been in existence during the past century, with orchard and garden adjoining, will now fall into the hands of the lord of the manor, J. B. Carter, Esq., M.P., and R. B. Kennett, Esq., who have property adding the same.
