Several daring outrages have lately been committed by persons passing through Petersfield on the Portsmouth coaches. One day last week this dastardly contact having been repeated, when not only 33 panes of glass were broken in different windows, but a young woman, sitting at one of them, was violently struck with a stone. Three spirited inhabitants started in a post-chaise in pursuit of these cowardly assailants, whom they overtook about 10 miles on the road, and did not allow them to proceed any further till they had paid the whole of the damage.
