PETERSFIELD.]—VOLUNTEER RIFLE CORPS.—On Thursday afternoon the Petersfield division of the 12th Rifle Volunteer Corps attended at Horndean to join the Horndean division for drill, and also to elect and appoint competent gentlemen to fill the necessary offices, under their able commandant, Captain Chawner. This gallant officer distinguished himself in a very heroic manner during the Crimean war in several severe and arduous engagements.
