ROGATE.

PETERSFIELD AMATEUR CHRISTY MINSTRELS.—On Monday evening, a party of gentlemen, gave at the White Horse Inn, in this village, an entertainment, which had been announced under the above heading. At the time stated by ‟posters” for commencing, a highly respectable audience number 120 persons were present. It was at once seen (although it was the first time they had appeared in public) that they were well up to the business. As space will not allow us to notice the whole of the parts. We must content ourselves by saying that the performance of ‟Bones”(Mr. Perkins,) and “Tambourine,” (Mr. Swaine,) was first-class. Messrs. Breeze and Shotter did their parts very well, as also did Messrs. Putman, Albery, and Jeffery. We are pleased to hear that every one present seemed perfectly satisfied. We are told that they intend visiting other villages in the neighborhood of Petersfield, and hope they will be quite as successful as they have been at Rogate. It must be plainly seen by all who witnessed their performance on Monday evening, that neither pains nor expense has been spared to procure a perfect outfit for the work, and it is our wish that we may some day have the pleasure of seeing again.
