CHRISTMAS GREAT MARKET.—Our annual fat stock market will be held on Wednesday next, when a first-rate exhibition is anticipated from this grazing district.

Hampshire Advertiser — Saturday 13 December 1862i

THE CHRISTMAS CATTLE SHOW MARKET took place on Wednesday, when there was a very prime show of beasts in first-rate condition. It was the opinion of competent authorities that it was the finest exhibition of fat beasts that has been seen in our little town, and reflected much credit on the breeders and feeders of stock. There was a fine herd of twenty-four splendid Devons exhibited by Mr. S. Seward, most of which were sold. Mr. C. Coryton also had some fine beasts; and those belonging to the following were also worthy of note:—Messrs. Ring, Boys, C> Chase, Harris, W. Chase, W. Chalcraft, &c. We are also glad to see that some of the best beasts were purchased by some of our own butchers. As might be expected from the large supply, there seemed a consequent dulness on the part of the buyers.
