PETERSFIELD.

BRITISH SCHOOL—This School was visited on Wednesday last by Mr. Vardy, the Inspector for the district of the British and Foreign School Society. The following is his report— ‟The Petersfield School, under the able, earnest, and successful superintendence of Mr. Fairbairne, retains its deservedly high character. The order, secured by a blending of firmness and kindness, is good, the attainments of the children in the several subjects taught are considerably above the average, and upon the whole, the school is in a highly satisfactory state.” —CHAS. FOX VARDY, A.M.
