PETERSFIELD, Saturday, December 9.
CHRISTMAS SHOW MARKET.—This old established annual market for prime fat beasts has never presented so sad a show as that exhibited on Wednesday, even in the memory of the oldest attendant at the same—scarcely a good fat bullock was to be seen,— and the number of all sorts together were less than forty head, with only one or two coops of sheep; but the number and quality of pigs were good. It must however, be stated that our principal graziers sold their beasts at their homes, where the butchers have not been slow to visit, from the knowledge that this hitherto favoured district has up to the present escaped the destructive ravages of the cattle plague.
