The Petersfield election commenced yesterday, when Colonel Jolliffe and Sir William G H Joliffe, Mr Ogle, and Mr Marsh, were proposed. The Mayor declared the show of hands to be in favour of the two latter gentlemen. A poll was then demanded upon the part of the other candidates, and was to commence this morning.
