PETERSFIELD FAIR, HAMPSHIRE.—On Saturday this fair was held in the usual fair-field, for the sale of cattle of all description. Fat beast averaged 4s. 6d. per stone; milch cows from 10l. to 13l. a head (including their calf); good wether sheep made from 40s. to 50s. a head; and wethers for folding and turnips from 32s. to 40s.; fat lambs made 5s. per stone, and stock lambs varied in price from 17s. to 21s. a head, and prime Southdown ewes made from 30s. to 36s. a head; well-bred cart colts obtained prices varying from 16 to 24 guineas, and young nag horses from 14 to 30 guineas; pigs (fat) made 4s. per stone, and porkers reached as high as 5s. per stone, and store pigs sold well.
