ELECTION OF DISTRICT SURVEYOR.
THE Highway Board for the District of Petersfield, in the County of Southampton, are prepared to receive Tenders from Persons competent to fill the Office and perform the Duties of DISTRICT SURVEYOR, as required by the above Act.
The District comprises the several Parishes of:—

| Colemore | Priorsdean |
| Eastmeon | Privett |
| Empshott | Petersfield |
| Froxfield | Steep |
| Greatham | Sheet |
and contains about 185 miles.
The successful candidate must be prepared to enter into a Bond, with two Sureties, for the due performance of his duties, in the sum of £200, and must reside within the District.
Tenders in the hand writing of the party, stating his age, previous occupation, and the amount of Salary required (including all expenses necessary to the performance of the duties), accompanied with testimonials as to character and capability, must be sent to me on or before Wednesday the 6th day of May next, for the consideration of the Board.
Candidates must attend at the Board Room in the Union Workhouse, at Petersfield, at their own expense, on Thursday the 7th day of May next, at two o’clock in the afternoon.
The Board do not pledge. themselves to accept the lowest or any Tender.
