PETERSFIELD.

     At the Petty Sessions, on Tuesday, before the Hon. J. J. Carnegie and G. Forbes, Esq., the proceedings scarcely occupied an hour. 

—   Two young men from Clanfield, named James Jacobs and William Latter, were charged with trespassing in search of rabbits on Sunday morning, May 30th; Jacobs pleaded guilty, and was fined 1s. with 7s. 6d. costs, or 14 days’ imprisonment with hard labour; the money was paid. Latter pleaded not guilty, and was acquitted.

—   Thos Eade was convicted of cutting, with intent to steal, two bundles of heath shrubs in Longmore enclosure, the property of the Commissioners of Woods and Forests, and fined 1s. with 7s. 6d. costs, or seven days’ imprisonment; paid.
