     PETERSFIELD PETTY SESSIONS, Tuesday.—Present : The Hon. J. J. Carnegie (in the chair), Sir A. K. Macdonald, Bart., and Sir J. Clarke Jervoise, Bart., M.P. 

—   A highway rate for the parish of Buriton was signed. 

—   Taking a Pheasant.— George Baker, of Buriton, was convicted on the information of Arnold Stroud of taking a pheasant from a gin, on the 4th inst. A previous conviction was proved. Fined 5s and 7s 6d costs. 

—   Burning Furze. — George Luff charged John Lipscomb with malicious injury in carrying away and burning three bundles of furze belonging to him (Luff). He was convicted and adjudged to pay 8s 6d, including fine, damage, and costs.
