—   Henry Spencer, wheelwright, of Liss, was charged by Mary Ann Souter with being the father of her putative child.—The evidence of the complainant, a rather good-looking young woman, was that the defendant had promised her marriage, but had suddenly left her.— Defendant, in his defence, accused the complainant of immoral conduct; but this was fully disproved by complainant and her witnesses.—The Chairman said the Bench considered the case proved against the defendant, and ordered him to pay 1s. 6d. per week, and the costs, 18s. 6d.
