     PETTY SESSIONS.—Present: Hon. J. J. Carnegie, J. J. Waddington, George Forbes, and Joseph Martineau, Esqrs.

Neglecting to Support a Parent.—William Clerk, of Horndean, was charged by the overseers of Catherington parish for not maintaining Ann Clerk, his mother. Ordered to pay 1s. per week.

Stealing Money.—Lucy Cannons, of Hawkley, was brought up in custody, charged with stealing one £5 note, £5 in gold and silver, one sheet, one round frock, a piece of cotton print, and other articles, the property of Ann Windebank, of the same parish.
After the examination of several witnesses, she was committed for trial.

Setting a Wire.—James Newton, of Eastmeon, was charged with setting a wire, on the 1st of April, not being authorised to do so for want of a game certificate. Fined 1s.
