At Petersfield Sheep Fair, on Monday last, about 6,000 sheep were penned. The attendance of buyers was not so large as on some former occasions, and the trade was consequently heavy. The rain fell incessantly during the day, and had done so throughout the previous night, which of course materially affected the appearance of the sheep, and tended to keep down prices. Ultimately, however, about 4,000 changed hands, at prices varying as follows:— Ewes, 22s. to 28s.; Wethers, 25s. to 30s.; Lambs, 10s. to 21s.
