PETERSFIELD UNION.
RELIEVING OFFICER AND COLLECTOR OF POOR RATES.
THE GUARDIANS of the above Union will, at a Meeting to be held on Thursday, the 4th day of June, 1863, at the Board Room in the Union Workhouse, at Eleven o’Clock in the Forenoon, proceed to ELECT a RELIEVING OFFICER and COLLECTOR OF POOR RATES for District No. 2 of the said Union, comprising the several Parishes of Buriton, Greatham, Liss, Petersfield, Steep, Sheet, Hawkley, and Empshott.
The joint salary for the two offices will be Ninety-five Pounds per annum, payable quarterly, exclusive of the fees attendant on the Registration of Births and Deaths, TO WHICH OFFICE HE WILL ALSO BE APPOINTED.
The person elected must be a good accountant, reside in the Town of Petersfield, devote his whole time to the duties of his offices, enter into bonds with two approved sureties for the due performance thereof, in sums respectively amounting to £500, and be prepared to enter on the performance of his duties immediately. The appointments will be made subject to the approval of the Poor Law Board.
Applications to be made in the candidates’ own hand-writing, stating the names and addresses of his proposed sureties, his age, previous and present occupation, whether single or married, with particulars of family, and forwarded to me, with written testimonials, before the 3rd day of June next.
Candidates may attend, at their own expense, at the place, day, and hour above mentioned.
