HARTING.
FOOTBALL.—Petersfield v. Harting.—A match was played on Saturday, February 2nd, in the Culvers Meadow, East Harting, by the kind permission of Mr. Wm. Wild, between the boys of Petersfield and Harting schools. The game was kept up with spirit from 2 o’clock til 3.30 p.m., when Harting had made 10 goals and Petersfield 7, the match thus resulting in favor of Harting. The wind being westward, all the goals except two were got at the east—the two goals made against the wind being obtained by the Harting side. The play of Thomas Fossey, E. Watts, and B. Wallder, for Harting, was very good; as was also that of Mr. Harris and C. Kille for Petersfield. Soon after the commencement of the game it was joined by Revs. H. Haigh and E. Coles on the Petersfield side, and Rev. H. D. Gordon for Harting. We understand that a return match is shortly to be played at Petersfield. The following are the names of the players:
