PETERSFIELD, November 7.
PETERSFIELD YOUNG MEN’S IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.—A few of the members of this society gave an interesting and useful evening’s entertainment in the National Sohool-room on Tuesday evening, Mr. H. Atkinson, Vice-President of the society, in the chair. The entertainment consisted of readings from Act 3, Scene 2, of Shakspere Henry VIII., and a few readings and recitations from other standard works. The following members took part in the readings: — Rev. R. E. Coles, and Messrs. Macfarland, Lee, Meeres, Privett, Taylor, Carter, York, and Underwood. The attendance was large, as might be expected, the admission being free. At the conclusion a vote of thanks to those who took part in the readings was warmly accorded, as also to the chairman.
