IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT

     Petitions were presented by Mr. Spooner in favour of Iegalising marriage with a deceased wife’s sister, from the towns of Southampton, Gosport, Bognor, Petersfield, and Overton, signed by the mayor, aldermen, and councillors of Southampton, clergymen, dissenting ministers, solicitors,  surgeons, gentlemen, merchants, tradesmen, and others, to the number of 945-221 of them being married women; by Lord Mandeville, from the town of Bedford, signed by the mayor, clergymen, dissenting ministers, solicitors, surgeons, tradesmen, and others, to the number of 100; and from the town of Richmond, Surrey, signed by 72 persons.
