We have left ourselves hardly space to comment on the acts of infamous tyranny and intimidation by which the Tories have displayed their old feeling in various parts of the country; but our readers will find some valuable and important details on these subjects in our details of proceedings in Carnarvon, Banbury, Buckinghamshire and Petersfield. The infamous oppression practised in the last-named place is truly horrible. It is impossible that such atrocious injustice can be permitted to go unpunished. Indeed, the monstrous misdeeds of the Tories in this their last effort against the progress of Reform and of all political and moral improvement—their reckless exertions to obtain seats in Parliament by barefaced bribery and tyrannical coercion, will cover them with obloquy, involve them in irretrievable ruin, and expedite for the people the security of the Ballot.
