PETERSFIELD.—A short time since a very handsome silver salver was presented to Dr. Peskett, on his removal to a distant part of the country, in token of the high esteem in which he was held as medical officer of the Petersfield Union. The salver is a very handsome article of chaste and elegant workmanship, bearing the follow inscription :—
"1846. —Presented to Dr. William Peskett, by the clergy, guardians, ratepayers, &c. of the Petersfield Union, as a token of their esteem and approbation of his uniform kindness and attention to the poor of his district, whilst acting as its medical officer."
