PETERSFIELD.—On Wednesday evening last the Prizes and Certificates lately awarded by the Hants and Wilts Adult Education Society to Henry Mills, Benjamin Burnett and George Chitty, three members of our Winter Evening Classes, were presented to them in the National School Room, by the Rev. J. M Sumner, in the presence of some of the managers of the Schools. The rev. gentleman accompanied the presentations with some very kind and encouraging remarks congratulating the candidates on their success and urging them to continue their efforts and endeavour to induce their friends and companions to do likewise, at the same time earnestIy cautioning them to avoid the public house and to abstain from Sabbath desecration and while striving for these earthly prizes to seek above all things to press sorward towards the ‟prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus,” that so they might hereafter receive a commendation far higher than any that man can bestow ‟Well done thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of the Lord.”
