RAILWAY AND CANAL BILLS IN PARLIAMENT.
FURTHER REPORT FROM THE BOARD OF TRADE.— LONDON AND SOUTH-WESTERN.
By this Bill it is proposed to amalgamate with the London and South-Western Railway Company: —
The North Devon Railway and Dock Company,
The Bideford Extension Railway Company,
The Petersfield Railway Company, as from 1st January, 1863, on the terms that their shareholders are to be paid off at par by the South-Western Company ; and,
The Chard Railway Company.
In each case the amalgamated company are to be dissolved; the amount of their authorised share and loan capital is added to the share and loan capital of the South-Western Company; their debenture debt becomes debenture debt (as part of the increased loan capital) of the South-Western Company; and the latter company are authorised to issue new shares to the amount of the added capital, and to attach a five per cent, preferential dividend thereto.
The Bill further authorises a lease or sale of the undertakings of the Ringwood, Christchurch, and Bournemouth, and the Bishop’s Waltham Railway Companies respectively, to be made at any time to the South-Western Company; in case of sale, the selling company to be dissolved.
