HARWICH.
REGISTRATION OF VOTERS.
On the Wednesday last, the revision of the lists for the borough of Harwich commenced before H R Reynolds and J 'Espinasse, Esquires, the Barristers appointed to revise the Lists for that borough. There were about 40 cases of claims and objections, and in consequence of party feeling running high, considerable excitement existed in the town. Messrs. Church and Sons, of Colchester, were retained to conduct the cases on the part of the Blue interest; and Mr Philbrick, of Colchester, and Mr Jackaman, of Ipswich, on behalf of the Yellow. To the first case called on an objection was taken by Mr Jackaman to the form of the notice, inasmuch as the objection had stated his address to be "of Harwich," only contending that the name of the street or place in which the objector resided should be particularized, in order that the person objected to might know who he was, to enable him to ascertain the ground of objections, so that he might be better enabled to meet it at the proper time. In support of his argument several cases were cited, particularly those of Petersfield and Bedford, in which Committees of the House of Commons had come to opposite decisions on a similar point.
