PETERSFIELD

Agent—Mr. G. DUPLOCK

FIRE.—On Friday evening, the 28th ult., a rick of hay containing about 25 tons, belonging to Mr. Bridgman, of Bordean Farm, was discovered to be on fire, which arose from overheating and being situated near the house and farm buildings, it assumed a very serious and threatening aspect. A message was at once despatched for the Petersfield town engines, which arrived on the spot soon after, and by dint of great exertions the fire was confined to the rick in which it originated.
