RIFLE CONTEST BETWEEN TEN OF THE WINCHESTER AND TEN OF THE PETERSFIELD CORPS.—On Tuesday last, this friendly contest took place, under very favourable circumstances, at Butser Hill, near Petersfield, with the following result:—

The Winchester ten were hospitably provided with breakfast, at the cost of their officers, by Mr. Crafts, on their arrival at Petersfield, and after the contest J. Bonham Carter, Esq., the Liberal M.P. for Winchester, had a very handsome repast, with a profusion of wines, &c., set out in a marquee on the Down, of which both sets of competitors and their friends were invited to partake, an invite which was cordially accepted and enjoyed.
