PETERSFIELD.
Agent—MISS DUPLOCK.
RIFLE CORPS.—On Monday evening last the members of this corps, who for convenience are drilled in two divisions, one at Petersfield and the other at Horndean, mustered here, and marched for the first time through the High-street to the Town-hall, where they were drilled in one body by Sergeant Whiting, and afterwards fell in again and marched in excellent order back to the place of muster. We learn that the services of the corps have been accepted by the Queen under the style and title of the ‟12th Hampshire Rifle Volunteers.” The swearing in of Effectives is fixed for Saturday (this day), and as it expected the corps will march through the town, headed by their band, it will doubtless prove a sort of gala day.
