ROBBING A MARINE. —On Saturday, a young man, named BLACKMAN, a native of Harting, and at the time at work in the village of Horndean, was brought before J. Waddlngton, Esq , at the Magistrates’ Clerk’s Office, charged with robbing a marine. It appears that three marines were on their way from Portsmouth to their homes, upon furlough, after foreign service, when upon reaching Horndean, on Thursday afternoon, they entered the Red Lion and refreshed themselves, after which one of them went into the stable and laid down to sleep. Upon awakening from his slumber he discovered that he had been robbed of his purse, containing upwards of five pounds. Suspicion falling upon Blackman, he was apprehended on Friday. and the purse with a portion of the money, was found in his possesion. He was accordingly remanded to the petty ressionon Tuesday.
