     Among the special prizes offered by the local committee, hops, the staple produce of the county, naturally occupy a prominent position. For Class 30, Golding hops, there are 13 entries, viz.:—

6. Robert Berriman, of Langrish Manor Farm, Petersfield, Hants; 12 cwt grown per acre; age of plantation 7 years; picked from the 5th to 28th September.
