PETERSFIELD.
AGENT—Mr. G. DUPLOCK
RUMOURED REMOVAL OF MR. SUPERINTENDENT FEY.—A rumour has been lately current, which we find, on enquiry, is not without foundation, that Mr. Fey, the superintendent of police, who has been so many years stationed here, is about to be removed to another district. We are quite sure that we express the unanimous feeling of all the respectable inhabitants of the town and neighbourhood when we say that such a step would be very much regretted. Few men in his position evince such a happy combination of the sauviter in modo with fortiter in re, and to this may be fairly attributed the general quiet and also the absence of crime which characterizes this neighbourhood.
