PETERSFIELD.
SAD ACCIDENT. — On Saturday afternoon last an accident of a very serious nature happened to Mrs. Henry Calvert, of the Square. It appears that the unfortunate lady had received the supply of bread from the baker, in his basket, and was in the act of proceeding with the same to the cellar, and when about five steps from the bottom of the stairs by some means missed her footing and fell with considerable force to the flooring below. Her moans were heard, and she was at once carried up-stairs and placed on a sofa. Medical aid was soon in attendance, and it was found that both bones of her leg just above the ancle were broken, when the fractures were reduced by Dr. Leachman, under whose able care the unfortunate sufferer is progressing favourably.
