     SALE OF MALT SEIZED BY THE EXCISE. —Last week the sale of malt (seized on the 3rd of February), which was adjudged to be forfeited by the Magistrates at Petty Sessions, held on the 1st of April inst., together with £100 fine, took place at the Dolphin Hotel. The information was preferred by the Inland Revenue Department under the Excise laws, against Mr. Wm. Weeks, an extensive maltster and farmer, residing at Eastmeon. At the appointed time the malt was put up for sale by Mr. Etherington, auctioneer, and was, after a little competition, purchased by Mr. Crafts, of the Red Lion Hotel, at 8s. per bushel, the quantity being 78 bushels.

     SALE OF MALT SEIZED BY THE EXCISE. —Last week the sale of malt (seized on the 3rd of February last) took place at the Dolphin Hotel, which was adjudged to be forfeited by the magistrates at petty sessions, held on the 1st of April inst., together with £100 fine. The information was preferred by the Inland Revenue Department under the excise laws against Mr. William Weeks, an extensive maltster and farmer, residing at Eastmeon. At the appointed time the malt was put up for sale by Mr. Etherington, auctioneer (with 3¼ gallons of gin seized without a permit, at Liphook), which was, after a little competition, purchased by Mr. Crafts, of the Red Lion Hotel, at 8s per bushel, the quantity being 78 bushels. The gin was purchased by Mr. Wakeford, of Liphook, at 10s per gallon.
