PETERSFIELD.

LIBRARY AND READING ROOM.—The closing Lecture for the present season was delivered at the Town Hall, on Tuesday evening last, by the Rev. J. Williams, subject—‟The Dwellings and Domestic Life of the East.” The Lecture was of a highly interesting character, and all the more so from the pains the Lecturer took to keep before the minds of his audience the intimate connection which the subject has with Scripture History; and to show how the study of it may be made ancillary to the study of that best of all books—the Bible. The Lecture was illustrated by several colored drawings.— The room was completely filled, and at the close a vote of thanks was proposed by R. S. Cross, Esq., and seconded by the Rev. 0. A. Hodgson, and cordially responded to by the audience.
