PROMOTION.—We learn that Serjeant Stephenson, of the Shirley division of the Hants Constabulary has been promoted to be superintendent at Petersfield. Mr. Stephenson is a young and intelligent officer, and in leaving his present quarters for a more respectable post, carries with him the respect of those among whom he has resided.
