On Sunday last the Rev. William Hawker, M.A. of Ashford Lodge, in this parish, ‟read himself in,” as curate, being successor to the late highly esteemed Rev. Thomas Floud, who for the long space of 13 years faithfully discharged the sacred duties of his cure. After which the Rev. gentleman preached an excellent and impressive sermon upon the Baptism of Infants, which was listened to with marked attention, taking his text from the 10th Chap, of St. Matthew, the 13th and six following verses.
