PETERSFIELD.
THE THUNDER STORM OF MONDAY.—One of the most severe thunderstorms we have known for a long time visited us about nine o’clock, and lasted for some hours, accompanied by loud and almost continuous claps of thunder, with vivid flashes of lightning and torrents of rain. We have heard of no positive damage being done, with the exception of the searching washings to which the roads have been subjected from the quickly accumulated water, and the floodings from the sudden stoppage of drains, &c. During the storm a perfect deluge came down the High-street, and most persons who had retired to rest were kept awake, and some of those who did got up and redressed till the storm had subsided.
