STATE OF PUBLIC OPINION
IN THE COUNTRY.

The intelligence which we published yesterday as to the state of public feeling in various provincial districts, is confirmed by the letters which we have received this day.

Everywhere the people are preparing for the worst. In Manchester especially, notwithstanding the efforts made to corrupt the press, the best possible feeling prevails. Committees have been formed in various parts of the town, and the proceedings and sentiments of the metropolis have been fully reciprocated. The enthusiasm is as high as during the last reform struggle.

Assignment plan has been adopted at Nottingham, Petersfield, and at various other places.
