STRANGE FREAK OF A COW.—The old story of "the bull in china shop” has oft been told, but we never till now could speak knowingly of the visit of a cow to a drawing room, which, however, took place at midday on Monday last, at the house of Mr. Caplin, in the College-street; the entrance and exit having caused considerable surprise from the accomplishment of the feat without the least mischief or casualty of any kind having occurred. It appears that "Colly" entered the yard from the street, passing along the same through the doorway into the garden, to the back door of the house, which, being open, she entered and proceeded along the passage to the hall, and then into the drawing room on the right. With the help of an assistant, the mistress and her servant cautiously made their way to the doorway, where they observed her cowship, standing in Rachel-like style, curiously and quietly peering upon her reflected beauty in the large glass upon the mantleshelf—so close as to displace one of the chimney ornaments—resting it in a leaning position against the same. Having completed the object of her visit, the quiet animal proceeded on her circuit round the large table standing in the centre of the room, and retracing her steps, returned the same way she had entered, to the great delight of the inmates assembled to witness her departure.
