     SUDDEN DEATH.—An inquest was held last evening at the ‟Jordan,” Chandos-street, on the body of Sarah Merchant, aged 40, who died suddenly on Thursday morning in Mr. Scale’s surgery, Landport. The deceased, who was the wife of Henry Merchant, a labourer residing at Petersfield, was lodging in Chandos-street. She left at 11 o’clock on Thursday morning with the intention of returning to Petersfield and was proceeding down Commercial-road towards the railway station when she suddenly fell down, apparently in a fit. She was taken into a shop and from thence to Mr. Scale’s surgery, where she died soon afterwards. Verdict ‟Natural Causes.”
