WINCHESTER
TEETOTALISM—A lecture upon Temperance was delivered at the British-hall, Jewry-street, on Monday, to a respectable audience, by the Rev. Dr. Duthie of Petersfield, the subject being ‟objections to the Temperance Movement.” The Rev. W. Thorn presided, and the excellent band of the Temperance Association played several airs after the lecture, which seemed to have had a convincing effect upon several of the audience, as the pledge was taken by some of them at the close of the proceedings.
