PETERSFIELD.]—TEMPERANCE SOCIETY.—A lecture, on the temperance question, was given in the Town Hall on Friday evening, the 9th inst., before a large assemblage of both sexes, by John Hilton, Esq., of Brighton. The forcible arguments produced by the lecturer caused several persons at the close to sign the pledge.
