PETERSFIELD, HANTS.
THE Inspectors for Lighting the Town of Petersfield, in the County of Southampton, by virtue of an Act of Parliament passed in the 3 and 4 years of the reign of his late Majesty King William the Fourth, cap. 90, do hereby Give Notice,—That they are desirous of receiving proposals from any Person or Persons willing to undertake the LIGHTING THE STREETS, Roads, and other places of or in the said Town, and to furnish Lamps, Lamp Irons, Lamp Posts, and other things necessary for that purpose; and that it is the intention of such Inspectors to enter into a Contract with the Person or Persons whose proposals for the purpose shall be adopted.
Tenders to be sent to the Secretary, St. Calvert-square, Petersfield, stating the charge per lamp, from 1st September next to the 30th April, 1864, inclusive. The lighting of all such lamps to be completed three quarters of an hour after sunset, and none to be extinguished before eleven o’clock p.m., seven nights in each lunation excepted, when the lamps shall be lighted and extinguished according to a scale to be furnished by the Inspectors.
To be forwarded to the Secretary on or before the 3rd August, at Ten o’clock.
The Inspectors will not be bound to accept the lowest or an only Tender.
