LIMEWORKS ON THE DIRECT PORTSMOUTH RAILWAY.
IMPORTANT TO LIMEBURNERS AND OTHERS.

     TENDERS are invited from Limeburners and Others willing to undertake LIMEWORKS to be established on the Portsmouth Direct Railway, at Buriton, 3½ miles from Petersfield. The South-Western Railway Company will offer every facility for the construction of a siding at the point (58 miles from London and 16 from Portsmouth) where the line passes through the grey chalk which is of the best quality and suitable for Government Contracts. White chalk for agricultural lime also immediately accessible.

     Tenders should embrace particulars as to sidings, kilns, and other buildings, and the royalty per load, with the minimum quantity on which it would be payable, and the term of lease.

     John Mariner or Luke Gumbrill, at Buriton, will show the ground. Tenders to be  sent by the 31st March to Messrs. Dunn, Hopkins, Blackmore, and Co., Alresford, from whom and from Mr. W. Adams, Buriton, further particulars may be obtained.
