PETERSFIELD.

THE WEATHER.—The frost, which has set in some time, has made travelling dangerous; but the heavy snow which fell, to a depth of eight inches, on Tuesday night, completely blocked up our roads so, that neither coach, omnibus, nor carrier’s van was able to go its accustomed journey on Wednesday; and the mail-cart from Fareham, which should have reached this town at five o’clock a.m., did not arrive till nine; and although it was market day, when our town usually presents a bustling aspect, it was only by the occasional bleating of a sheep or lowing of a bullock; that we were reminded there was anything more than usual going on.
